Sure, you can stretch slime out forever. Sure, it’s super squeezable. Sure, your kids love poking it and listening to the popping when they yank their fingers away. And, sure, making slime is half the fun. However, did you know you can also blow ginormous bubbles in your slime in a bunch of different ways?

There’s no manual for how to play with slime, just as there’s no one way to create fun slime bubbles. To learn how to blow bubbles in slime, read on, but try to find your own ways too.

Use a Straw and a Little Slime

First, one of the safest and simplest bubble-making methods involves using a trusty straw. Any plastic straws you have will do, though reusable slime straws are reliable, eco-friendly options.

To blow a proper bubble, start by divvying up small bits of slime to everyone for their own bubbling. If you want to make a huge one though, maybe keep your batch intact. Insert the straw, make sure to seal the edges around the straw so air doesn’t escape, and blow slowly. A bubble will pop up out of nowhere!

You also can blow with just your mouth, but reserve this for older kiddos who won’t eat the slime. To do this, flatten a handful of slime, pick it up, and make an indent in the middle with your finger. Then fit this indent in the circle your thumb and pointer finger make when they meet—then, simply blow and you’ll see a bubble in no time.

Use a Table or Counter and a Medium Slime

Your next option—use slightly bigger slimes and a solid surface. Almost any surface will do, but using a table or counter is the easiest. For these bubbles, flatten your slime and pick up one end from the surface until it’s really thin and see-through. Then, in a flash, drop it down so you can trap air inside. The quicker you do it, the bigger your bubble will be, and you can let gravity blow it up for you.

Use a Partner and a BIG Slime

The best way to blow bubbles in slime when your batch is monstrously big is to grab a partner or two. Each of you can take an edge of a flattened slime and move it up and down in sync while pulling it apart. After a few seconds, your slime will be thin enough in the middle to drop to the ground, creating a bubble that’s bigger than all of you. If you’re looking for a truly great family or group activity, making bubbles this way is endlessly satisfying.
